Last updated: May 19, 2026. STNews respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects readers and contributors to do the same. This page explains how to file a copyright infringement notice (“DMCA Notice”) or a counter-notice if your content has been removed in error.
1. Reporting copyright infringement
If you believe content on stnews.live infringes your copyright, send a notice that includes all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works).
- Identification of the specific URL(s) on stnews.live where the allegedly infringing material is located, with enough detail for us to find it.
- Your contact information: full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on its behalf.

Send DMCA notices to our designated agent:

3. What happens after we receive a notice
Upon receipt of a valid DMCA Notice, we will:
- Promptly review the claim (typically within 7 business days).
- Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material if the notice appears valid.
- Notify the user who posted the content (where applicable) and provide them with a copy of the notice.
- Document the action in our internal log.
4. Counter-notice procedure
If your content has been removed or disabled in response to a DMCA Notice and you believe the removal was in error or you have authorisation to use the material, you may file a counter-notice. Include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed in error.
- Your contact information.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales (or your relevant local courts) and accept service of process from the original complainant.
Send counter-notices to the same agent address above.
5. Repeat infringers
We will, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, terminate accounts of contributors or commenters who are repeat infringers.
6. Misrepresentation
Section 512(f) of the DMCA holds people liable for knowingly making material misrepresentations in either a takedown notice or counter-notice. False claims can result in significant legal liability. We will report obvious misuse.
7. Fair use and journalism
STNews regularly quotes and references third-party content under fair use, fair dealing, and other journalistic exceptions. Before sending a notice, please consider whether the use is permitted as commentary, criticism, news reporting, or transformative analysis. Where a use is clearly fair, our policy is to defend it.
8. Trademark and other IP complaints
